Do you handle truck crashes on I-285 and the Downtown Connector?
Yes. The Scott Pryor Law Group represents people hurt in truck crashes across Atlanta, on I-285, I-75, I-85 and I-20 and on the Downtown Connector, where I-75 and I-85 run together through the middle of the city. Passenger cars and 18-wheelers share those lanes in heavy traffic, and the crashes can be severe.
Atlanta sits where major freight routes of the Southeast meet. I-85, I-75 and I-20 all pass through the metro area, and tractor-trailers are part of daily traffic on them and on I-285. The crashes include jackknifes, underride crashes and rollovers, and they often involve more than one vehicle.
A truck crash is also a different kind of case from a car wreck. You are up against a trucking company, its insurer and its lawyers, and sometimes a cargo company, a maintenance contractor or the maker of the truck. Federal and state safety rules apply that never come up between two drivers.
Our Georgia truck accident page explains who can be held liable and how a truck claim starts. If the truck was one of several vehicles in a pileup, our Atlanta car accident page covers how those crashes get sorted out.
Is the trucking company already building its defense after my Atlanta crash?
Often, yes. After a serious truck crash in Atlanta, the trucking company's insurer may have people interviewing witnesses and photographing the scene while you are still in the emergency room. The Scott Pryor Law Group moves early to preserve the company's records, because logging-device data can be overwritten within weeks and camera footage can be deleted.
Much of the key evidence sits with the company. Electronic logging devices record the driver's hours. Dash cameras record the road. Maintenance logs show whether the truck was cared for, and they can disappear without a demand to preserve them. Our demands go out as soon as you hire us.
Senior Case Manager Steve Ware concentrates on the firm's most complex trucking and commercial vehicle cases. He has more than a decade in personal injury work, and he knows which records to preserve, which experts to bring in and which arguments carry weight with adjusters and juries. He works beside the attorneys who lead each case: Scott Pryor, Andrew and Zane Bradford.
While you go to medical appointments and physical therapy, the investigation keeps moving. We keep you updated and answer your questions as they come up, so you are never left wondering what happens next.
While I'm driven and relentless in pursuing justice, I pride myself on being personable, honest, hardworking, and loyal.
What if a delivery truck hit me in an Atlanta neighborhood?
Call The Scott Pryor Law Group. Atlanta is home to large distribution facilities for shipping and online retail companies, and their delivery drivers work neighborhood streets and major highways on tight schedules. In an Atlanta delivery truck crash, the company the driver works for can matter as much as the driver, and so can its insurance.
Drivers racing to meet delivery quotas cause serious crashes in Atlanta neighborhoods as well as on the highways. If you remember the company name on the van, the color of the truck or where it was headed, tell us. It helps us find out who owns it.
Who employed the driver shapes the claim. Some drivers work for the shipping company itself, and others for a separate company that delivers for it. The answer decides whose insurance pays, so we find it in the company's own records, including dispatch logs and the driver's file.
Other work trucks share the same streets. Garbage trucks, dump trucks, cement mixers and heavy equipment have large blind spots and make frequent stops. After those crashes, too, we find out who owned and operated the vehicle before anything else.
If the van belonged to Amazon or one of its delivery partners, read our article on who can be named after an Amazon delivery crash.
What federal trucking rules apply to an Atlanta truck crash?
Trucking companies must follow strict safety regulations, including limits on driver hours and maintenance requirements. O.C.G.A. § 40-1-8 The Scott Pryor Law Group's article on federal and Georgia trucking rules explains which rules apply to which trucks, and how a broken rule can help prove the company was negligent.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to travel to Gwinnett County to hire the firm for an Atlanta truck case?
No. You can start by phone, and much of the early work, from preserving the trucking company's records to talking with witnesses, goes on without you. When you are ready to meet, choose our Peachtree Corners headquarters or our Lawrenceville office, both in Gwinnett County. Phones answered 24/7, and the consultation is free.
What if a MARTA bus hit me in Atlanta?
Call early. A claim involving a bus run by MARTA or another public transit agency can follow different rules and timing from a claim against a private trucking company. We first check who owns and runs the bus, then which steps apply. Our article on government immunity in transit accidents explains why.
A rental moving truck hit me in Atlanta. Is that a truck case?
Yes. We handle crashes with rental box trucks and moving trucks as truck cases. The person driving may rarely handle a vehicle that size and can make an unsafe lane change, misjudge a clearance or fail to secure the load. We find out who rented the truck, who was driving and which insurance applies.
What if the truck that hit me was carrying fuel or chemicals?
Get to safety and get medical care, then call us. Fuel tankers, chemical haulers and industrial liquid carriers travel Atlanta's highways every day, and a crash can bring fire, a spill and an evacuation zone. The injuries are often severe. Besides the driver and the carrier, the company that loaded the cargo may share responsibility.
